Optimism still dominates the mood of analysts with regard to the brazilian luxury car market. The expectation among experts, for example, is that sales in segment increase 14% compared to last year. The survey is signed by Mercedes-Benz, according to a report published on August 1st in Exame magazine.
The German automaker, which is building a plant in São Paulo for the end of 2015, with an investment of R$ 500 million, believes the plant can reach 11,000 vehicles sold in the country this year. The amount would represent 17% more than in 2013.
According to the managing director of the company in the country, Dmitris Psillakis, the luxury segment should more than double in size by the end of the decade. In September, Mercedes-Benz will launch in Brazil the new models of C Series and the GLA sedan, both of which to be manufactured at the new plant in Iracemópolis (SP).
Also according to the company, the number of dealerships in the country will jump from 32 to 47 stores by the end of the year. The region has shown increased growth in this aspect is the Northeast of Brazil. The finance portfolio also grew by 10.4% on a year over a total of R$ 10.6 billion.
